We have brought for you a few do’s and dont’s of makeup to look special on that special day.
Do’s for Your Face
- DO choose a make-up that is close to your skin tone. If the foundation is too dark, it will create a mask-like effect.
- DO keep your skin looking fresh by using a tinted moisturiser or a well moisture-balanced makeup.
- DO give your foundation staying powder by using a gel foundation primer before you apply your makeup. Add a light dusting of loose powder to prevent any unwanted shine.
- DO use a bronzing powder to warm your skin tone. Using a natural bristle brush, lightly apply colour to the areas of the face where the sun would naturally hit: forehead, cheeks and the bridge of the nose.
Dont’s for Your Face
- Don’t get too much sun before your wedding. You don’t want a sun-tanned skin to sabotage your special day.
- Don’t use a heavy pressed powder to set your foundation. Too much powder can leave your skin looking chalky.
Do’s for Your Eyes
- DO use a brow powder or gel in a colour one shade deeper than your natural hair colour to keep your brows looking their best. If your brows are scant, lightly fill them in with a brow pencil in a light neutral shade and then, using a brow powder and brush, go over this shape using a stippling technique to create a natural effect.
- DO use flattering neutrals to contour and highlight your eyes. For eyeliners, stick to the classics: black, navy or brown.
- DO get lush lashes by first using an eyelash curler and then applying two coats of lengthening mascara. Go for waterproof mascara.
- DO apply concealer with a sponge to cover any blemishes and to hide circles under your eyes.
Dont’s for Your Eyes
- Don’t apply too many coats of mascara on your lashes.
- Don’t use heavy pencils or dark shadows to define your brows. This can leave you looking stern rather than stunning.
- Don’t get too trendy with your eye makeup. You have to look simple and stunning.
- Don’t apply heavy eyeliner or heavy false eyelashes. It will cast unwanted shadows over your eyes and cheeks.
Do’s for your Lips and Cheeks
- DO choose a warm flattering cheek colour in a pinky peach or rose. When applying the colour, focus the blush on the apples of the cheek and blend the excess back and up toward the hairline. For oily skin, a powder blush is the perfect choice, but if your skin tends to be a bit dry, try a cream blush to achieve a fresh natural glow.
- DO make your lips attractive by first applying your lip colour using a lip brush, then using a lip pencil in a complementary colour. Be sure to follow the natural line of your lips. Not only is it easier to define your lips after your lip colour is already applied, it also creates a softer, more natural look.
- DO use a lip liner pencil and draw the natural lip line, which will help prevent lipstick from running.
- DO choose a lip colour in a warm, fairly bright shade. Roses, pinks and reds look great in photos and keep wedding whites looking fresh.
Dont’s for your Lips and Cheeks
- Don’t forget to wear blush. Apply a touch of blush high on your cheekbones and blend carefully. Blush will bring that extra shine on your face.
- Don’t use a lip liner much darker than your lipstick to define your lips.
- Don’t wear a lipstick that is too neutral or frosted. These colours can leave you looking pale or tired.

I need to communicate appreciation to you personally only for bailing me out of this specific example. Right after looking through the internet as well as obtaining techniques that were not necessarily beneficial, I was thinking my entire life has been above. Living without the answers to the problems you’ve fixed by way of this website is a essential situation, in addition to ones that may have got terribly affected my job basically hadn’t discovered your website. Your own instruction and kindness in managing every part has been priceless. I don’t know a few things i would’ve done basically hadn’t found such a stage such as this. It’s achievable in order to at this time relish my future. Thanks to you for this expert as well as result oriented information. We won’t be reluctant to touch on your website to be able to anyone who wishes advice on this situation.

Hi Ladies, I just got married recently and used the exceptional services of Pam from Brides & Blooms. After months of pre planning and going from one disappointing makeup trial to another, I heard about Pam’s amazing rapport with clients and decided to go for a trial. Wow, she matched my foundation 100% and my makeup was radiant and flawless. But what impressed me the most was her patience, humility and her sound professionalism. I used her for my mendhi, hurdee, bridal and sendoff makeovers. Both my sisters and mom were also impressed with their makeup and hairdos that Brides & Blooms put together. I am more than happy to recommend her to anyone looking for a brilliant bridal stylist. Brides & Blooms can be reached on 031 2662447/082 3162378
